The ORB, which stands for Orbiting Radial Booth, in 2023 is set to revolutionize the event photography and videography industry.  The 360 ORB introduces a top-mounted motorized 360-capturing enclosure system with an integrated LED lighting setup, which is an industry first. This innovative system not only captures stunning slow-motion moments but elevates the overall visual experience, setting a new standard in 360 camera capturing technology.

What sets the 360 ORB apart is the unique eco-system utilizing a dual-model approach. The aluminum truss model, called the 360 ORB-Parallax provides a sleek and modern aesthetic, while the inflatable enclosure model, aptly named the 360 ORB-Air, which stands for Advanced Inflatable Rig, offers an eye-catching canopy-style inflatable structure, and a dynamic branding alternative. These two 360 enclosure setups utilize the same patented top-motor assembly, which will cater to diverse event themes, thus making the 360 ORB a versatile choice for a wide range of occasions and client preferences.

Overall safety is paramount in the design of the 360 ORB. This is evident in the motor system’s magnetic-clutch mechanism. This innovative addition disengages the spinning arm from the main rotor shaft, thus reducing the risk of damage to the motor, and ensuring the safety of event attendees.

One of the goals of the ORB’s innovation was creating a 360 capturing system that not only ‘looked’ extremely safe, but absolutely must be mechanically safe and reliable.  “You literally have a high-end camera spinning 360 degrees around you.” exclaimed Tu Le. “First impressions do matter. The first thing you want is to surprise and amaze the user. The last thing you want are users second-guessing the safety of your product.” stated Tu Le.

The commitment to safety is complemented by the 360 ORB’s user-friendly design, emphasizing easy transport and setup. The light-weight, splash-proof structural materials contribute to portability, while the fire-retardant, and patented internal X-pole structure of the ORB-Air inflatable setup enhances user safety without compromising on creativity.

The development of the 360 ORB is a result of four years of dedicated research, including collaboration with an award-winning US robotics team. This extensive process aimed not only at innovating but also at perfecting the technology, ensuring reliability and safe operation at every event- indoors and outdoors.

Prior to launching the Fotopod Booth company, Chief Designer Tu Le had 13 years of prior experience in CGI lighting for Hollywood feature films and movies.  A few movies Tu Le has worked on have been awarded an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, such as Life of Pi, the Golden Compass, and Pirates of the Caribbean. His position was Senior Lighter and Technical Director. His past visionary approach is evident in the ORB’s dual-circuit, double-diffusion 360 degrees LED tube lighting system. This advanced lighting technology not only enhances the quality of video and photos captured but also adds a captivating visual element to any event.
